15-goal Man United prime target agree £100m deal to complete transfer

Atletico Madrid have stolen a march on Manchester United over deal for 19-year-old Portuguese forward Joao Felix, this is according to reports.

Felix is one of the players lined up by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as priority targets for this summer and we covered a report that even claimed a huge offer was made for the youngster. United have already added Daniel James to their attacking fray but they are now looking for some creativity upfront.

United are not the only club linked with move for the player. In the Premier League, Liverpool and Manchester City have also made enquiry for him.

However, it appears that Atletico Madrid have won the race to land the Benfica forward in a record deal. According to Spanish publication Marca via the Mirror, an agreement between Benfica and Atletico Madrid is now in place for the transfer of the player – the deal is said to be worth £100million.

Antoine Griezmann decided to call time on his spell with the Los Rojiblancos and Felix will join them as his direct replacement.

Felix can play across any of the wings or behind the striker. His biggest strength is his skills, passes and eye for goal. The 19-year-old star scored 15 goals in 26 appearances for his club last season and he has been tipped to come good.

Should this deal go through for Diego Simeone’s men, it would have as a huge blow for United who are looking to sign a creatively attacking player.
