Some few weeks back Arsenal were heavily linked with Atlanta United’s attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron. News of an impending move to the Emirates seems to have subsided in the last few weeks perhaps due to his recent hamstring injury which has kept him out of the spotlight.
However, Almiron’s agent Daniel Campos has revived this notion in his recent comments claiming that the 24-year-old was on his way to the premier league. According to the interview he granted Campos was assertive but admitted that there was no concrete arrangement with any club yet.
“There is still nothing concrete,” “but he will surely play certainly in the Premier League.”
Almiron is expected to cost the Gunners around £11.5million and Fox Sports had claimed earlier in October that both sides had agreed on a deal.
Atlanta United are reportedly close to signing River plate midfielder Gonzalo Martinez as Almiron’s replacement. Almiron is expected to replace contract rebel Aaron Ramsey in the midfield for the Gunners. The Paraguay International is known for his creativity and is able to chip in goals from the midfield.
This transfer looks close to being completed but there could be some minor issues as regards work permit which could be a major stumbling block for the transfer. Almiron has been impressive in the MLS since arriving Atlanta United in 2017.
