Arsenal have registered interest in Romanian and Genoa goalkeeper Ionut Radu, as confirmed by the player’s agent, according to reports.
Radu has spent the last two seasons on loan spells from Inter Milan. The 22-year-old star featured in 33-league games for Genoa last season, where he kept up to six clean sheets. His barnstorming heroics in-between the sticks for the Rossoblu last season has earned him the attention of several clubs including Arsenal.
The Gunners are shopping for a goalkeeper after Petr Cech decided to hang his gloves. Although David Ospina is still in the books of Arsenal, he is likely going to sign a permanent deal for Serie A giants Napoli.
Radu’s agent Crescenzo Cecere was reportedly quizzed by Fcinternews about the player’s future and he said:
“There are so many teams interested, including Lyon. Recently, there was also a survey from Arsenal.”
“He is a very interesting prospect since he is growing a lot, from all points of view “
Arsenal ended the season outside top-four places on the table and failed to win the Europa League after reaching the finals. The North London club must bolster and invest heavily in the club if they want to be competitive.
Should Arsenal sign Radu, he may not get into the team ahead of Bernd Leno but he’d be a good option from the bench.
