Dani Ceballos joined the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid before the end of the summer transfer window in England and Unai Emery has been impressed with his performances on training ground so far.
After seeing the 23-year-old recorded two appearances for his team during pre-season tour of America, the former PSG boss can’t help but heap praises on Ceballos’ urge and determination for success.
According to him, the Spaniard looked sharp in training sessions with the rest of the team — despite picking up a knock against Barcelona in one of the pre-season games — as he was willing to have the ball at all times.
‘He is showing us every day his ambition, his hunger is big. I think we need players like this.’ Emery told reporters.
Meanwhile, the Gunners began their 2019-20 Premier League season in a fine fashion as they defeated Newcastle at St James Park on Sunday.
The Gunners weren’t in their best form against the Magpies but they were able to take maximum points after the encounter.
A lone goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was all that was needed by the North London club to get past Newcastle who were in front of their fans.
Emery will definitely charge his men to up their performance in subsequent matches if they must be among the top-four clubs by the end of the campaign.
