Former Arsenal striker Lucas Perez is on the brink of joining Spanish club Alavez after West Ham accepted an offer for his move, per reports.
Since leaving Deportivo for Arsenal in the summer of 2016, Perez has seen his stock reduced. Under the auspices of Arsene Wenger, he was a bit-part player, who managed only 11 league appearances before he was loaned back to Deportivo.
He returned to the Premier League with Arsenal but the club sold him on a permanent deal to their City rivals West Ham United last summer. Despite the dearth of quality forward, he struggled for game time with the Hammers but it appears he has decided to leave the side.
According to Sky Sports, Alavez and West Ham have reached a £2.2m fee agreement for the player’s move. He is yet to agree personal terms with the side but this isn’t going to be a problem.
Perez can play as a centre-forward or a winger – he would be a massive addition for Alavez. Given the fact that he’s played in Spain before, it won’t be difficult for him to cope with the rigours of the league.
