Arsenal are ready to steal a march on Manchester United over the signature of Belgian full back Thomas Munier, according to reports.
Following the departure of Aaron Ramsey and the imminent exit of Stephan Lichtsteiner, there is currently a dearth of players at Arsenal and they are in search of replacements for the aforementioned stars.
Hector Bellerin picked up an injury and may not return at the start of next season. The Gunners are looking to sign Munier, who would not just replace him but compete for a place in the squad.
Munier joined PSG from Club Brugge in the summer of 2016 but he has remained a bit-part player for the club ever since. He is adept at scoring goals and providing assists.
The 27-year-old star is yet to sign a new deal with Paris Saint Germain despite being in the final year of his contract. L’Equipe claim Man United are strongly interested in the Belgian, who is viewed as a perfect replacement for Antonio Valencia and Darmian.
However, Arsenal are said to be in a pole position given the chance they have to qualify for the Champions League. Munier has also played under Emery and the Spanish manager is said to be willing to prise the star out of Parc des Princes.
The report claims PSG are willing to let the player leave but will only accept €30million (£26.5m) offer.
