Arsenal may have already signed Shkodran Mustafi’s replacement

Rob Holding can fill in the boots of German Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi.

Mustafi who joined Arsenal from Valencia in the summer of 2016 has failed to justify his 35million Pounds price tag. He has received tongue lashes for his below par performances for the Gunners and there are claims he’d be put up for sale when the transfer window comes alive in the summer.

The 27-year-old was solely responsible for the defeat Arsenal suffered at the hands of Crystal Palace on Sunday. Given the dearth of options at the disposal of Emery, Mustafi is likely going to feature against Wolves at Molineux tonight.

Arsenal already have a transfer budget for the coming summer, with the fortification of defence said to one of Emery;s top priority. However, We’ll have Holding back at that time and he could be the long term and permanent solution to our defensive woes at the moment.

Holding started the season brightly with us and was part of the squad that had an impressive 22-game unbeaten run before he was banjaxed with injury. Given the age of Laurent Koscielny, we could do with a brand new centre-back but do not forget Holding, who seem like a huge part of the future of Arsenal.

Matthijs De Ligt and Daniele Rugani have been linked with a move to Arsenal – rightly, whatever proceed the club gets from the sale of Mustafi must be reinvested in the signing of another defender.
