Arsenal official to arrive in Iceland today ahead of deal for £20m-rated defender

The Gunners have their eye on 23 year-old Turkey international Dorukhan Tokoz who was part of the team that defeated World champions France 2-0.

Tokoz shone bright in the match against France coming up against the likes of one-time most expensive player Paul Pogba and BlaiseMatuidi.

The Besiktas midfielder caught the attention of so many fans and pundits. Right now, it seems the powerful directors, scouts, and coaches at Arsenal have also been impressed by the player’s heroics.

The Gunners, as a reason, have sent some of their scouts to watch the player in action against Iceland on Tuesday.

The scouts might be looking to have a one-on-one interaction with the midfielder.

Tokoz has also been under the radar of several European clubs including AC Milan and Napoli. West Ham and Newcastle United are two English clubs that are also interested in signing the Besiktas midfielder.

According to Fotospor, the player has been valued at £20m by the club’s President Fikret Oman.

The Gunners are on a low budget this transfer window having missed out on UEFA Champions League football. They hope to stage a return to the prized competition. However, they will have to start that progress on a low-key.

Unai Emery will fancy buying a player at such low price, especially if he represents a good value for money.
