France born midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is on the verge of signing a contract extension deal with Arsenal, reports the Sun.
The 20-year-old midfielder is one of the revelations for the Gunners this season despite being his first.
He arrived the Emirates only last season with the pedigree of a rising star but he has been integral for Unai Emery’s team. He featured for 44 games in all competitions for Arsenal this season and Emery is desperately impressed with his performance.
The player, who is currently earning £40,000-a-week, will be offered a deal worth £75,000-a-week wages. Should he sign the deal, he will become the most paid Arsenal youngster and the deal will keep him at the club until at-least 2023, according to the report.
Although his style of play is quite different from Aaron Ramsey’s, the Gunners may not sign another midfielder because of how hard Guendouzi works in the team.
There are claims that Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will also be handed new deals by Arsenal.
