Arsene Wenger reveals why Liverpool may not win the title

Arsenal great Arsene Wenger has suggested Manchester City are in pole position to win another Premier League title because “destiny” is against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

City are now occupying first spot in the table after a hard fought victory over Burnley. The Citizens are only one point ahead of the Reds, leaving the race for the title as the most intriguing in all times with both teams having over 90 points with two games left to spare.

City play their last two games against Leicester City and Brighton but Liverpool have the trickier fixtures. The play in the Champions League before a tough game away at Newcastle United.

Wenger believes Liverpool may not be able to survive the onslaught of the Magpies.

“There’s still hope but they go to Newcastle,” Wenger told beIN Sports . “Newcastle is not an easy place for Liverpool. I’m scared for Liverpool even with one game to go that Manchester City will already have won it but they will fight until the end.

“It looks like there’s a destiny that is against Liverpool. They dominated for such a long period in English football and suddenly from 89-90 until today they cannot win the Premier League. Every time there is small things against them.”

Kenny Dalgish was the last manager of the Reds that won the title for them in 1989-90 season. Since then, this season has been their best in terms of form and points garnered.

Liverpool also have a chance of winning the Champions League this season.
