While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has started signing players in a bid to rebuild the Man United squad, we also expect to see some departures and we may just be in for some big surprises.
According to reports making the rounds, Romelu Lukaku has agreed personal terms to complete transfer with Serie A side Inter Milan.
Inter Milan appointed former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte after given the boots to Luciano Spalletti and it appears that the new boss has named Lukaku as his top target for the summer.
Lukaku switched Everton to join Manchester United in the summer of 2017 in a big money move but the Belgian has failed to justify his price tag. Since the appointment of Solskjaer as the boss of United, Lukaku has not been the outright first choice pointman of the club. The United boss has preferred fielding Marcus Rashford as his lead attacker.
Just recently, Lukaku was found patronising Conte when he claimed the Italian boss was the best manager in the World.
‘It’s good to see Conte joined Inter, for me he is the best manager in the world,’ he told Premium Sport. ‘I’ve already taken a decision about the future but I can’t reveal it because I have a contract with Manchester United and because I respect the club.’
And now, according to the Mirror who quoted Gazetta dello Sport, Lukaku is on the cusp of join Inter Milan after agreeing personal terms with the club. He is expected to earn £6.6m in bonuses over a five year deal when the move is completed.
The report further claims talks are ongoing over the transfer of the player and United are willing to accept £62m to let him leave.
