The Reds are tracking a number of players as the transfer window looms and have highlighted Matthijs De Ligt as a top target should everything fall in place.
Following an incredible run to the UEFA Champions League semifinal with Ajax, Matthijs De Ligt has been a revelation to the rest of Europe. At just 19, the youngster was able to captain his side to victories over the likes of Tottenham, Real Madrid and Juventus.
It is unknown if he will be staying at Ajax in the next season as a number of clubs are currently on his tail.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool, and Paris St Germain are some of the clubs fighting to bring the promising youngster to their respective clubs.
It is believed that Jurgen Klopp would savour a starting XI that features Virgil van Dijk and Matthijs De Ligt at the backline.
However, they are unable to match other club’s huge deals for the teenage sensation. United are reported to be offering £350,000 a week wage to the 19 year-old while Barcelona is the player’s dream club, per the Metro.
Paris St Germain, on the other side, are ready to match and even surpass United’s weekly wage offer.
PSG have also ensured to create a plan that spells out De Light’s role in the team both in the short term and the long term.
