Callum Hudson-Odoi is on the verge of sign a lucrative contract extension deal with Chelsea, and that’s the claim of  ESPN FC pundit Gabriele Marcotti.

Hudson-Odoi is the latest breakout star from the academy of Chelsea and he has been tipped to come good. He was a subject of bids from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window but Maurizio Sarri insisted he was not going to be sold.

The English youngster broke into the first team of Chelsea this season and they want to keep him at the club by all means. He will see out his contract with the Blues at the end of last season but they are keen on handing him another.

Several pundits have identified the talented player as the probable replacement for Eden Hazard but it is left to be seen if he would step into the big boots of the Madrid bound attacker.

The 18-year-old star is currently recovering from injuries but Marcotti believes he would sign a deal soon.

“Hudson-Odoi I would expect is more likely to sign, there was talk they’d reached a deal in principle,” he said.

“Obviously he’s injured for yonks but you’ll have Willian, you’ll have Pedro, you’ll have [Christian] Pulisic coming in.

“You’ve got Mason Mount, you’ve got Reece James, you’ve got a whole bunch of really young players.”

There is so much uncertain over the future of Maurizio Sarri but the Blues will secure the future of the players first. Willian is also in line to sign a new contract extension deal.

However, the Portuguese will need slug it out with Frank Lampard in the race for his services because the Blues manager is equally interested in the player.

The Blues have solely relied on Tammy Abraham for goals so far this season and Lampard believes signing the €70m-rated (according to Lille’s price tag) Nigerian will lessen Abraham’s goalscoring burden.

Though Liverpool are firing from all cylinders, Klopp is equally eyeing a possible swoop for the Lille forward as he wants to provide more competition for Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the second half of the season.

It should be recall that Manchester United were once linked with a move with Osimhen but it remains to be seen if the Red Devils are still interested in his services amid Solskjaer’s desire to reunite with Erling Haaland.

Chelsea have received a set-back in talks to hand talented youngsters Tammy Abraham and Reece James new long term contracts.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard had to do with the players he inherited from his predecessor Maurizio Sarri at the beginning of the season due to FIFA’s transfer sanction.

The former England international did manage to get the best out of the available players as hehas  largely depended on the academy products — including Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Callum Hudson-Odoi — for results, but that could change in January.

Abraham, who is the club’s leading goalscorer with 13 goals in all competitions, has been awe-inspiring so far, and the Blues are reportedly going to reward him with new bumper deal.

However, contract talks between the player and the club’s representative has reportedly failed to produce a positive result, according to The Telegraph.

The British media revealed that negotiations between both parties have stalled for now as the board members are shifting focus on getting the best players who can help Lampard achieve his aim for the season during the forthcoming transfer window.

Chelsea fans have no reason to panic because the player still has two years in his current contract, so, there is still much time to reach an agreement with him over a new deal.
