The Blues have been reported to revive their interest in Bundesliga forward Leon Bailey.
According to reports from England by the Metro, Chelsea are set to bring their long-time target Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey to Stamford Bridge.
Having sold prized asset Belgian forward Eden Hazard to Spanish giants Real Madrid in a deal north of £100m, the Blues are now looking for the right replacement.
At the moment, Jamaica international Bailey is the number one target they are keeping tabs on. The Stanford Bridge outfit believe that the forward’s worth is around £80m.
The player has scored a total of 16 goals in 66 matches for the Bundesliga side who paid around €20m to sign the player.
The departure of Eden Hazard has left a hole in the squad. Hazard’s departure had been a topic for years, and his leaving Chelsea was a matter of when, not if.
The future of manager Maurizio Sarri is also unknown as the Italian may still be axed from the club. No decision has been taken regarding that.
The club will also be looking to announce their goalkeeping legend Petr Cech as the new club director.
If appointed, Cech will b resume the position left vacant by Michael Enemalo who left for Monaco in 2018.
