Chelsea set to announce the arrival of former key star

Certain ESPN FC sources have noted that the Stamford Bridge outfit are set to make Petr Cech technical director.

Following his resignation in 2017, Michael Emenalo is yet to be replaced by the London club. They may soon do that as they are in the final stages of making goalkeeping legend Petr Cech the club’s director.

The board hopes that Cech’s role and his presence may bring about greater coherence and decision making to a structure that has seemed disjointed since Emenalo’s departure.

Both parties have held talks about the role for several months. However, nothing has been heard about it in public as Chelsea sought to respect their former goalkeeper.

Having been part of the golden era at Chelsea that won literally everything alongside Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, and John Terry, Cech commands a huge image around the club.

Despite joining eternal city rivals Arsenal, Cech has the trust and respect of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as well as other key figures within the club.

For now, nothing is certain. We will have to wait till everything is said, done, and signed. However, at that time, it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore.

Petr Cech holds the record for the highest number of clean sheets in Premier League history (202) and in a single EPL season (24) set with the Jose Mourinho title winning team of 2004/05.
