Krystian Bielik will join up with the rest of Arsenal squad for their pre-season tour after European Championship, that’s the claim of Charlton boss, per reports.
Bielik joined Arsenal in 2015 in a £2.4 million deal for Bielik from Legia Warsaw with so much prospect but the Polish youngster has failed to live up to expectation. The versatile defensive midfielder has struggled to earn a place in the first team of Arsenal and he has been sent on various loan spells.
The player’s development is said to have been affected with injuries. However, while he was on loan at Charlton last season, he featured in 31 League games for the side and he was said to be impressive. While the future of the 21-year-old has remained in doubt, Charlton head of recruitment Steve Gallen has revealed the player would return to Arsenal.
“We’ll look at the loans a little bit later, not so many clubs will be keen on loaning a player out today or tomorrow,” Gallen said (via Football.London).
“Players like Josh (Cullen) and Krystian (Bielik) will go back to their clubs for pre-season and be looking to convince their managers that they should be in their first team squads.”
Bielik started out his career as a defensive midfielder but he has been deployed as a centre-back in previous games. Arsenal are currently in the market to bolster their defence and midfield – if Bielik impresses during pre-season games, Emery may just give him a chance next season.
