Chelsea have received a massive boost following Tiemoue Bakayoko’s decision to stay at the club next season.
Bakayoko arrived Chelsea in the penultimate summer with the pedigree of a classy midfielder. Having enjoyed a barnstorming debut season, he was highly rated. Alas, Maurizio Sarri did not fancy him in his squad and he sanctioned a loan move for the French midfielder last summer.
Milan won the race for his signature and he joined them in a $6 million deal on a season-long loan agreement. Although Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League, Bakayoko was a revelation for the Rossoneri as he impressed throughout the season.
He featured for a total of 2800 minutes across all competitions for Milan, where his tackles, crosses and interceptions earned him rave reviews. The 24-year old is enjoying good form at the moment and he wants to fight for a place in Chelsea’s team.
According to L’Equipe, the player’s agent Abdoulaye laid bare his desire to fight for his shirt at Stamford Bridge.
“There are some pretty interested clubs, quite big clubs that have enquired but we give priority to Chelsea.
“We already know there is the Champions League [at Chelsea] and we are looking for stability.
“Tiemoue has decided to stay there.”
The addition of Bakayoko to Chelsea’s squad came at good time following the departure of Mateo Kovacic, who has returned to Madrid after his loan spell.
He is current valued at 35,00 Mill. €
Chelsea Set To Miss Out On Star Player To Manchester City
Manchester City are set to leapfrog Chelsea in the race for Leicester City left-back Ben Chiwell in the January.
Though Lampard is ineligible to make any official move for new players as at the time of this report due to FIFA’s transfer suspension, the English tactician and his employers hope to see the ban lifted in or before January.
The Blues are heavily linked with a move for the Foxes fullback as part of Lampard’s desire to upgrade his team this winter, should they eventually see FIFA’s sanction being lifted before next year.
However, Manchester City are now set to beat the Blues to the player as reports via Offside Football reveals that Pep Guardiola is willing to spend big on his services.
Guardiola, whose side currently occupy the fourth position, is far from impressed with Benjamin Mendy’s display this season and he is set to release him in the winter.
The media outlet suggested that the former Barcelona manager has set his sights on the England international as perfect man to replace the Frenchman and he would do everything possible to lure him to the Etihad Stadium.
The 22-year-old left-back is having a great time under Rodgers at the King Power Stadium and it remains to be seen if the Foxes will listen to offers from the two Premier League giants.
Chelsea to reignite interest in £43m-rated full-back next summer
Chelsea’s transfer ban will be lifted at the end of the season and manager Frank Lampard will finally sign his first player as Chelsea boss.
The Blues are said to be targeting some top players ahead of the next summer window and Albanian right-back Elseid Hysaj is one of them.
According to Radio Punto TNuovo, the Blues are ready to reignite their desire to see the player at Stamford Bridge despite their inability to capture his services during Maurizio Sarri’s reign.
The former San Paolo star hasn’t been in a spectacular form for Napoli this season due to lack of regular game-time and he is being monitored by Lampard, who feels there is a need to upgrade his defence before next season.
However, it is believed that the manager’s interest and desire to work with Hysaj is dependent on Reece James’s display throughout the rest of this season.
The young England international was lively against Crystal Palace as he prevented Manchester United’s transfer target Wilfred Zaha from having a meaning impact during the encounter.
Should James maintain such performance till the end of this season, it is very likely to see Lampard pull out of the race to sign the Napoli star before the 2020-21 begins.
Hysaj has featured in eight games in all competitions so far but he’s still in search of his first goal. He is valued at £43m by the Serie A giants.
Chelsea star has been asked to leave club in January
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has been advised to dump Chelsea in January if he must continue to feature in Didier Deschamps’ squad ahead of Euro 2020 qualifiers.
The World Cup winner lost his place at Stamford Bridge to Tammy Abraham prior to the start of the season and he has only featured in just six games for the Blues.
Considering the player’s experience and importance to his team, France national team head coach Deschamps has advised the former Arsenal centre-forward to end his spell at Stamford Bridge if he fail break into Lampard’s starting lineup before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan are said to be eyeing a possible move for Giroud as Conte hopes to work with the player having failed to work with him during his days as Chelsea manager.
According to Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, the San Siro outfits are already in talks with the Blues and a deal could be reached in or before January.
Moving out of the West London club could be the best option for Giroud as it is very unlikely to see Lampard drop in-form Abraham from his list of regular starters.
Giroud has played 44 Premier League matches and has scored five goals since joining the Blues in 2018.
