Five-time Player Of The Year Set To Quit Arsenal For Surprise Club

Arsenal fans could wake up one day and find out that one of their best players is no longer in heir darling team as Mesut Ozil is close to completing his move to Major League Soccer side DC United.

Report from North London via Daily Star revealed on Sunday that the midfielder’s agent Ergot Sogut is in Washington where he’s negotiating a deal with the MLS side which will  see his client dump the Gunners before the end of the month.

DC United are reportedly in the market for an attack-minded player who will serves as replacement for Wayne Rooney and they see the former Germany international has the best option.

Though no agreement has been agreed upon by both parties, the media outlet revealed that discussion is going according to plan and the German could be out of Emirate Stadium soon.

Ozil’s place in Unai Emery’s team is uncertain following the arrival of Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid this month.

The Spain U21 international was in great form during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Burnley on Saturday and he continues to be a massive threat to Ozil’s chances of being a regular starter at the Emirates Stadium this season.

It remains unknown if the 30-year-old midfielder will put an end to his 350-per-week contract at Arsenal by joining the MLS side where game-time is guaranteed.

Ozil was voted Germany player of the year in five occasions (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016) before ending his international career after an uninspiring performance during Russia 2018 World Cup.
