Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson has made claims about Liverpool’s shot-stopper Allison Becker being better than his compatriot Ederson at Manchester City.
Liverpool and City were involved in a horse race for the League last season, which ended in favour of the Citizens. Although the Reds lost the League by a slim margin, they won the Champions league but all the players of the aforementioned clubs earned plaudits for their consistently top-notch performance.
While Liverpool and Manchester City players dominated the PFA team of the season, Ederson made the team ahead of Allison and that stirred a debate about who deserved the position. However, the Liverpool goalie Allison won the Golden Glove award for keeping the highest number of clean sheets in the League.
The fierce battle between the keepers has continued in Brazil but Allison has earned more caps than his rival and he’s currently the no.1 choice.
Speaking ahead of Copa America that will be kicked-off this Saturday, Kleberson laid bare his opinion on the keepers.
“It’s a tough one to choose between Alisson and Ederson,” Kleberson told betoclock.com. “Both are coming off a strong season and have had good moments.
“Ederson is a solid keeper but Alisson has risen to the big occasions this season.
“For me, Alisson is just the better goalkeeper but there is not much between them.”
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola called Klopp to congratulate him when he won the Champions League, where he said he looks forward to competing next season again. We also except the players to have similar mindset.
