Arsenal failed to pick maximum points for the second consecutive Premier League matches as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves on Saturday.
The Gunners took the lead in the first half via Aubameyang’s close range effort, but they couldn’t preserve the lead till the end as Raul Jimenez’s goal ensured that the away fans had something to cheer at the end of the encounter.
Arsenal’s run of form since the start of the season has given birth to rumors that Unai Emery could be sacked before the end of the season.
In fact, one of last week’s reports via The Sun claimed that former United manager José Mourinho could be the next manager at the Emirates Stadium.
However, it is believed that the Portuguese tactician will now have to wait till the end of the the season if he must take over from the former PSG boss.
According to the Independent, the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid manager will exercise more patience because the Gunners board members won’t show Emery the exit door until the end of the season.
The British media suggested that the Gunners hierarchy are willing to respect the contractual agreement they have with Emery which makes it impossible to dismiss him before the end of the campaign.
It should be recalled that Mourinho had already turned down the chance to manage a club in the French League as he is keen on returning to the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola reveals why Mikel Arteta will succeed as Arsenal manager
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed why Mikel Arteta will succeed as the head coach of Arsenal, per reports.
Arsenal confirmed the appointment of the Spanish tactician only today and a huge section of the Arsenal fan base have been thrown into hysteria.
Arteta joined Arsenal from Everton in the summer of 2011 and left in 2016, where he delved into management.
During his spell, he captained Arsenal and the manager of the side at that time Arsene Wenger always acknowledged his off-pitch leadership attributes and technical ability in training.
Arteta joined Manchester City as the manager three years ago when Guardiola was appointed to manage the club but he has never hidden his desire to lead a side as head-coach.

Although he is ruing the departure of his ever reliable assistant, Guardiola has laid bare the reason Arteta would turn out a huge success at Arsenal.
“When you have a dream you cannot stop it. Arsenal was an important part of Mikel’s career. One of the best teams in England. We wish him all the best. I am pretty sure he will do an excellent job.” Guardiola said ahead of City’s clash against Leicester City.
Given his time at the Etihad, he knows the feeling of winning titles as a manager and he’d be hoping to replicate the same feat at Arsenal.
Following the official confirmation of his appointment, Mikel Arteta said:
“This is a huge honour. Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world. We need to be competing for the top trophies in the game and that’s been made very clear to me in my discussions with Stan and Josh Kroenke, and the senior people from the club.
“We all know there is a lot of work to be done to achieve that but I am confident we’ll do it. I’m realistic enough to know it won’t happen overnight but the current squad has plenty of talent and there is a great pipeline of young players coming through from the academy.”
Manchester City forward could follow Mikel Arteta to Arsenal
Arsenal are on the brink of appointing Manchester City assistant manager Mikel Arteta as the long term replacement for Unai Emery.
The Spanish manager has reportedly reached a three-and-half year agreement to take over the reigns of the North London club.
While the fans are divided in opinion over the ability of Arteta because of his lack experience, they expect him to lure one or two of Manchester City’s players to the club.
The Arsenal fanbase have called on the incoming manager to sign Leroy Sane for the club, who are currently in shambles after a run of bad form.
Without reinforcing most areas of the Arsenal squad, it has been posited that Arteta would be unable to achieve any meaningful, feat with the side hence wholesome changes are expected beginning the January transfer window.
Sane, who has been out of Manchester City because of an injury but the Germany international rates Arteta highly and has maintained a cordial relationship with the Spaniard.

Sane has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga but he’s open to an Arsenal move as well.
Arteta has been promised resources to run transfers for Arsenal – we could see big money moves involving players like Sane.
Mikel Arteta signs long term contract with Arsenal
Mikel Arteta has put pen to paper to become the next manager of Arsenal, this is according to reports.
Arsenal have been in talks with the assistant manager of Manchester City over taking over the reigns of the North London club and there are claims a three and half year agreement has been reached.
The Gunners handed Unai Emery the sack after a series of poor and shambolic display from his team. Freddie Ljungberg was appointed as the interim manager of the side but the former Gunner has in no way improved upon the performance of the team.
