Juventus’ target decides to play for Chelsea next season

According to Goal, Italian left back Emerson Palmieri has decided to stay put with Chelsea despite interest from Serie A holders Juventus.

Palmieri arrived Chelsea in the January of 2018 with the pedigree of the top-notch wing back. However, he was unable to get into the first team of the Blues because of the good form of Marcos Alonso.

Alas, Palmieri has worked his way into the first team of the club displacing Alonso. Towards the end of last season, Maurizio Sarri fancied playing his compatriot over Alonso, who was creative in attack but was always found wanting when defending.

Following the lack of game time, Alonso’s future has been cast in doubt. He has been heavily linked with a move to his country club Atletico Madrid. If he leaves, Palmieri will become the only established choice for that position.

Chelsea are serving a transfer ban – after agreeing to let Eden Hazard join Real Madrid, they may not be willing to lose another player. The good news for the Blues is the fact that Palmieri is not going to leave the club this summer, as reported by Goal.

Palmieri is blessed with the ability to defend, attack and recover. He featured in 15 league games for the Blues last season and we expect to see more of him next season.
