Manchester United have secured the signing of Dutch rising star forward Dillon Hoogewerf, this is according to reports.
United have had their scouts watch Hoogerwerf since the start of the year and they gave a nod for his signing. The impressive and skillful winger never failed to show his quality whenever he’s called on to play. He scored 10 goals and provided six assists for last season’s campaign.
He is dubbed as one of the best players for the academy of the Eredivisie club. We understand that he was offered a professional contract by the Dutch club but he rejected the same to move to United. Ajax confirmed the move of the player last month.
“We wish Dillon a lot of success,” Ouaali, the Youth head for Ajax said
“We know we have done everything we can to keep him. Ultimately, the choice is up to him and he has opted for a foreign adventure.”
The Red Devils will only pay a training compensation fee for the player because he is not yet a professional.
Although, he is the first signing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he is not expected to join the first team of United. He will join the B team of the club, where he will continue to develop.
United now have a chunk of Dutch players in their squad including Tahith Chong, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Millen Baars.
