Manchester United are in pole position to sign England and Leicester City’s centre-back Harry Maguire, reports have claimed.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is rebuilding a team for United and he is looking to reinforce every aspects of his squad. There is currently a dearth of quality options for the Norwegian boss in the heart of United defence but Maguire can help the side become more formidable.
The Leicester City man is currently in hot demand following his consistently top-notch outings for the Foxes and England. City are also interested in the 26-year-old sturdy defender but they are unwilling to meet his bogus £80million valuation.
While the star has set his sight at moving to Man City, the club have valued him at around £50million and we understand that the Foxes would not budge to letting him leave for less than his valuation.
Vincent Kompany called time on his glorious spell with City, leaving them a tad short of quality and options for that position.
According to the Daily Mail, United are looking to convince the star to join them and they will make an offer closer to his valuation, leaving them in outright pole position to sign him.
Solskjaer has been handed a hefty transfer war-chest and he appears itchy to bolster his squad in-time ahead of next season.
Maguire was on the radar of United last summer but no offers were made for him. The Red Devils conceded goals with reckless abandon last season and they want his physical presence.
