Manchester United have begun discussions to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille, according to reports.
After signing two players in the transfer window, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed the club are in the running for some more players and United have been linked with a centre-back and a midfielder.
Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire have appeared at the apex of United wish-list but their huge asking price have stalled talks over their deals.
United look strong in attack and defence but they appear a tad thread bare in the middle of the pack, following the departure of Ander Herrera.
However, the lure of having a potent counter-attacking trio may just be tempting the Red Devils to sign a winger.
And according to the Times, United have joined Liverpool and Arsenal in the race to sign Pepe.
Pepe hard a blistering campaign for his club last season , when he scored 22 league goals in 38 appearances.
Although United have signed Daniel James from Swansea and also have several youngsters coming through, Pepe is more proven and will certainly add quality to the side.
Lille president Gerard Lopez revealed Liverpool have held talks with the player over a potential move but no offer has been made for him.
Apparently, the player desires to leave Lille this summer but he wants to go to a club where he’d be playing regularly, a privilege he will unlikely get at Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking to sign him but their transfer budget is a sticking point to any potential deal for him.
