Man United on the brink of sealing deal for first summer signing

Manchester United are on the brink of signing Welsh and Swansea winger Daniel James, according to reports.

United are shopping for players in the transfer window and they have made the signing of a winger their top priority. A chunk of impressive footballers have been linked with a move to United but James may be their first summer signing if reports making the rounds are anything to go by.

Known for his pace and trickery on the pitch, James is blessed with the ability to lay good crosses – an attribute the Solskjaer desires in other to bring out the best in Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku. The 21-year-old star star featured in 33 games for Swansea last season and found the back of the net four times.

According to Evening Standard, the only stumbling block to the deal is disagreement over the player’s transfer fee. United are holding out for a £10m fee but Swansea will only part ways with the Wales international if close to double( £20m) that amount is paid.

United are not the only club linked with a move for the player. French giants Monaco are also lurking around Swansea for the player, leading United to agree to meet his valuation. He has reportedly arrived United in a bid to undergo a medical and complete the move.

James may not get into the first team of United immediately but he has been tipped to come good. Solskjaer has been handed a bogus £200m, he is expected to use the same to start rebuilding the squad.

Manchester United Tipped To Sign Midfielder Who Has Six Goals In Three Matches

Manchester United have been backed by Newcastle manager Steve Bruce to sign Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn in January.

According Bruce in his pre-match conference ahead of Newcastle’s trip to the Villa Park Stadium, McGinn is a ‘smashing lad’ who has all it takes to feature for one of the best clubs in the League.

The manager praised the midfielder for his determination to do well and he believes the Red Devils won’t regret bringing him to the Theatre of Dreams.

Despite Steve Bruce’s praise for the Scottish who has scored six goals in the last three international matches, it is very unlikely to see Solskjaer complete a £50m move for his services this winter

Aston Villa are willing to keep hold of the talented Scotland international; Hence, they have slammed a huge £50m price tag on his services in order to prevent interested suitors from snatching him off their grip.

In other Manchester United news, England international Marcus Rashford has revealed his happiness under Solskjaer’s tutelage and he wants the Norwegian to remain at Old Trafford.

Reports have it that former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino could be the next manager at Old Trafford if Solskjaer fail to maintain his team’s recent form but the centre-forward has advised the Glazers to keep Solskjaer beyond this campaign.

19-goal Striker Turn Down United’s Transfer Bid Ahead Of January Window

Manchester United are linked with a move for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson ahead of the upcoming January transfer window but the player has revealed his desire to remain with the Cherries.

The Red Devils are currently enjoying a new lease of life at Old Trafford but Solskjaer isn’t carried away by the newly found fortune as he is keen on adding more players to his squad.

Having scored 14 goals throughout last season and five goals this season, Wilson has emerged as one of the strikers in Solskjaer’s transfer wish-list but the Englishman has reportedly turned down the chance to work with the Norwegian this next year.

According to The Mirror, Wilson is only focused on helping Bournemouth finish the season in a favorable position on the League table.

The media outlet revealed that the player is not thinking about reports linking him to the Theatre of Dreams as he recently renewed his contract with Eddie Howe’s side.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now turn his attention towards other strikers who are also  included in his transfer wish-list.

Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic, RB Leipzig’s star Timo Werner, RB Salzburg’s youngster Erling Haaland and Lille’s in-form youngster Victor Osimhen have all attracted the Norwegian’s attention following their bright start to the season.

Arsenal to contend with Man United over signing of quality defender

Manchester United are expected to be in contention for Juventus defender Merih Demiral when the transfer window reopens in January.

Though the Red Devils upgraded their defensive unit when the captured Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bisaka’s services prior to the start of the season, they haven’t been too solid at the back of the pitch.

The Premier League giants have 12 conceded goals, and Solskjaer is set to make some changes to the list of defenders at his disposal.

According to Italian media Tuttosport (via Football-Italia), the Norwegian tactician has set his eyes on the Turkish defender with a view of luring him to the Theatre of Dreams in the winter.

However, Solskjaer will need to contend with Arsenal manager Unai Emery in the race for the 20-year-old. It is believed that the Gunners manager is impressed with the report he got from his scouts who monitored the youngster’s performance against Iceland on Thursday.

The under-fire Arsenal manager has seen his defenders conceded 17 goals in 12 Premier League matches this season, a record which has led to fans displeasure.

The Spaniard is equally linked with a move for Demiral’s services as part of his plans to improve his defence in the second half of the campaign.

The same source further revealed that Serie A side AC Milan are equally keeping a close tab on the player’s situation under Maurizio Sarri, and they hope to beat the two Premier League giants to his services.

Demiral is finding regular game-time too hard to get under Sarri who prefers Leonardo Bonucci, Danielle Rugani and Matthijs de Ligt.
