New Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte continues to reinforce every department of his team ahead of the 2019-20 Serie A season which is set to begin on the 24th of August.

The San Siro outfit had earlier confirmed the signing of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku in a deal worth €75m earlier in the month but the former Chelsea manager isn’t done yet.

Reports that emanated from Italy in the early hours of Sunday claimed that he is keen on luring another United forward to the Italian League before the end of the month.

Alexis Sanchez is the next target for the former FA Cup winning manager and he’s reportedly doing everything to get the deal done before the close of the European summer transfer market.

The former Arsenal striker is currently rated €35m (transfermarkt) but the Serie A side are only willing to capture him on a loan deal which will include an option to buy him outrightly in the next transfer period if he lives up to his billing.

Should United eventually accept Inter Milan’s offer, this means that Conte has an option of naming a €110m-rated  starting frontline (Sanchez and Lukaku) next season.

The Chilean star joined the Red Devils from Arsenal in a player-plus-cash deal involving Mkhitarryan two seasons ago but has failed to hit the ground running despite Solskjaer’s decision to give him much game-time last season.  He has just three goals to his name after playing 34 Premier League games since joining the team.

Has Harry Maguire Fared Better Than Chris Smalling At Manchester United?

Former Leicester City defender Harry Maguire created a new record by becoming the world’s most expensive defender when he completed his huge £80m move to the Old Trafford Stadium prior to the start of the season.

Many Manchester United fans were furious with the club’s decision to spend such massive amount on a player who hasn’t proven himself in any top-four team all his career.

The did has already been done, the fans had no other option but to pray that the former Sheffield United defender lives up to his billing.

Maguire’s move to Old Trafford didn’t just create a new record for transfer price tag, but equally pushed Chris Smalling further down the pecking order at the Theatre of Dreams.

The English centre-back was eventually loaned out to Serie A side Roma before the start of the season so as to prevent the club from paying an underused player.

21 matches into the season, Maguire has blown hot and cold, and he has somewhat failed to justify his price tag.

Though it will be unfair to say that the former Foxes player has been a total failure, his performance is far below what was expected from him prior to the season.

He has failed to play a leadership role at the back and that is having a very negative impact on the team’s confidence level.

United have conceded 25 Premier League goals despite Maguire’s presence at the heart of the defence – although he is currently sidelined with injury. The 26-year-old defender is equally not a threat from set-pieces as he has no goal for the club.

Unlike Harry Maguire, Smalling is fast becoming a hero in Roma’s shirt having scored two goals in 11 League matches.

His reputation continues to grow so much that the Serie A side are set to seal a deal with United to have him permanently in January.

Judging by the players’ display so far, it won’t be out of place to say that Maguire hasn’t fared better than Chris Smalling at Old Trafford, and he need to up his game as soon as possible.

Manchester United manager has been a longtime admirer of his compatriot Erling Haaland and he’s reportedly close to bringing him to Old Trafford in January.

The Norwegian tactician knew the youngster during their days at Molde FC in Norway and he has finally revealed his thoughts on Haaland’s potentials.

According to Solskjaer, Haaland is having a massive development as a young striker and it will be pleasant to see him move to a club that will enhance his growth in the game.

“He is a player I like,’ Solskjaer said.

‘We are looking for good players all the time. ‘Erling has had a good development, so he has to develop further wherever he decides.

‘I don’t need to talk so much about him, but we as a team always look for players who can complement the others we have, and then we see what we end up with.’

The manager couldn’t hide his affection for the young teenager as he said that: ‘He is a player I like’ while speaking to Viasport — a Norwegian TV channel — on Wednesday.

It should be recalled that the manager had already been to Norway to have a round-table discussion with Haaland representatives to know whether he stand a chance of reuniting with the player in January.

RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are actively involved in the race for his services due to his obvious goalscoring potential which has seen him scored 28 goals from 22 games in all competitions.
