Manchester United are set to move in for Leicester star Harry Maguire in January according to reports from England. Maguire was a transfer target for the Red Devils in the summer as a late bid for the player was rejected by Leicester.
According to the latest report, United are ready to meet the £60 million asking price for the Towering Centre back. Mourinho has repeatedly complained of the lack of support from the club’s board in bringing desired targets in the summer and the board has reacted to United’s upsurge in form by releasing funds.
Mourinho wants to bring a steady figure to the centre back position with the purchase of the 25-year-old defender. The Portuguese manager is not happy with his current options in Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof and Eric Baily who have shown vulnerabilities when called upon.
United would be looking to test Leicester resolve with a new improved offer of £60 million for the defender who recently signed a five-year deal to remain at the King Power Stadium. Maguire has always spoken of his desire to play at a big club to challenge for titles and United presents an ideal opportunity for the no-nonsense defender.
