Manchester United confirmed the signing of three youngsters on Sunday to improve three key positions in manager Neil Ryan’s U18 side this season.
According the Red Devils’ official website, 16-year-old goalkeeper Johan Guadagno who played for Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna in the previous season was the first player to be captured by the Premier League powerhouse.
The youngster is expected to develop his game under Neil Ryan’s tutelage all through the 2019-20 campaign.
In the same report, Ajax’s highly-rated striker Dillon Hoogewerf has equally joined the Carrington Training ground outfit for this season.
Considering his exploits with Ajax youth team during 2018-19 season in which he was involved in 16 goals, Hoogewerf is tipped to feature with the club’s U23 and possibly get an opportunity to train with Solskjaer’s side in the course of the season.
The last player announced by the Glazers on Sunday is former Real Zaragoza youngster Mateo Mejia, who is expected to be integrated into the U18 team.
The three players, especially Netherlands U16 international Hoogewerf, will hope to follow Marcus Rashford’s footsteps by breaking into the first team setup in no time.
Meanwhile, Manchester United currently tackle Chelsea in their opening match of the season and it still remains goalless at Old Tarfford.
