David Luiz is set to push through an exit away from Chelsea to Arsenal after missing training at Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Gunners have been searching the transfer market frantically for a central defender and have started keeping tabs on Luiz.
The Brazilian, who has previously played under Unai Emery while he was Paris St-Germain, has indicated that he would like to relocate to the Emirates Stadium and reunite with the Arsenal boss.
Luiz signed a two-year year extension at Chelsea in May.
Chelsea, who are undergoing a two-window FIFA transfer ban, has been trying to hold on to most of their player this summer and therefore are reluctant to let the 32-year-old go as they’d be unable to replace him.
But Blues boss Frank Lampard, who is keen to give Kurt Zouma more chances to establish himself in the first team, has decided to release Luiz from his contract.
According to Mirror, a fee of £8 million has been agreed between the two clubs and Luiz will undergo Arsenal medical today.
