There is so much uncertainty over the who would manage Chelsea next season, this follows from Juventus’ interest in Maurizio Sarri. Juve are currently without a coach as Massimiliano Allegri called time on his spell with the side – the Old Lady are shopping for a manager to reign over the club, and Sarri appears at the zenith of their list.
Several names have been thrown into the fray as probable Sarri’s replacement but former star Frank Lampard is top of the chart. Rife reports claim Chelsea have open talks with the star and to further fuel the media wave, the player has been spotted out and about in London, per the Daily Mail.
Lampard, who had a trophy laden and glorious footballing career with Chelsea moved into management in 2018. He was appointed as the manager of Derby County. He assisted the club to a Championship play-off after finishing sixth on the log but they failed to gain promotion to the Premier League after they were defeat by John Terry’s Aston Villa.
After spending 13 years with the Blues, Lampard is viewed as the ideal replacement of Sarri. Although he is yet to prove his mettle as a manager, the fact that he knows the ideology of the West London club puts him in pole position to nick the job.
During his playing days, Lampard was a typical leader on and off the pitch. His ability to spot danger on the pitch is one of his biggest attribute even as a manager. Should Chelsea appoint him, they would have gotten a new generation coach but they must do everything to support him with transfer funds.
