The Gunners are ready to battle it out with any club to seal Yannick Carrasco’s signature this summer after the player confirmed an offer for him.
“There is now an offer on the table and the negotiations with my agent are progressing well,” Carrasco said.
Having failed to persuade the former Atletico Madrid player in January, Arsenal are ready to bring him to the Emirates without taking too long a time.
The player himself is believed to be seeking a way out of China; and his club, Dalian Yifang, are ready to let him go.
According to a Dutch publication via DC, the Gunners are the leading team to sign the Belgian forward. Having been heavily linked with the player in January, the Gunners are still looking at the possibilities of bringing Carrasco to North London.
However, some things need to be ironed out. It is reported that the amount involved is way higher than what the Gunners are willing to pay.
The Chinese club Dalian Yifang paid Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid a fee in the region of 30m euros just to take Carrasco to China. Subsequently, they had to pay another 24m euros in taxes to the Chinese government.
Now, the club is looking to recoup as much as they paid in order to let go of the talisman.
Carrasco has several times saidthat he likes football in China. However, he wants to return to Europe for family reasons.
AC Milan are also interested in signing the forward should Arsenal act slow.
