Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is definitely a happy man after seeing his men thrashed Manchester City 3-1 at Anfield on Sunday.

The victory ensured that the Reds are unbeaten so far this season and they have extended an eight-point lead at the top of the League standings with 34 points while second-place Leicester City have 26 points.

Despite the fact that the Reds attackers continue to find the back of the net on a regular basis, Klopp is reportedly keen on adding two in-form strikers to his team in January.

RB Leipzig’s star Timo Werner and RB Salzburg’s wonderkid Erling Haaland are in the manager’s wish-list ahead of the upcoming transaction period.

Coincidentally, both players scored at least two goals to help their respective clubs recorded a massive victory during the weekend.

Germany international Werner, scored a brace as Leipzig registered a 4-2 win over Hertha BSC on Saturday.

As for Erling Haaland who is being chased by 15 clubs, the Norwegian star scored three goals against Wolfsberger AC as Salzburg recorded 3-0 victory Sunday’s Austrian League fixture.

Manchester United are also interested in the two players as Solskjaer wants to add more threat to his team’s attacking prowess in the winter.

The two Premier League giants are expected to compete with other European clubs for both players as soon as the next transfer market reopens.

Liverpool are reportedly set to compete with other European giants in the race for record-breaking winger Kai Havertz who became the youngest player to record 50 league appearances in Bundesliga’s history last year.

The 20-year-old has been in a red-hot form for club and country since the start of the year and his consistent display has caught the attention of many suitors.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are keenly interest in his services while Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also in the race for the youngster.

Bild further revealed that Jurgen Klopp is contend with the winger’s potentials and he hopes to have him under his watch in the second part of the campaign.

Meanwhile, the Reds should be ready to launch a bid not less than €130m for the youngster if they are to meet Leverkusen’s price tag.

French Ligue 1 side Lille could find it difficult to prevent in-form striker Victor Osimhen from moving to greener pasture in January as Premier League clubs are set to compete for his services.

The 20-year-old, who joined Lille from Sporting Charleroi in the summer, has been scoring goals for fun in the French League and he is being monitored by Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool.

According to Sky Sports, José Mourinho is in search of a capable backup to Harry Kane, and he has beamed his searchlight on Osimhen

However, the Portuguese will need slug it out with Frank Lampard in the race for his services because the Blues manager is equally interested in the player.

The Blues have solely relied on Tammy Abraham for goals so far this season and Lampard believes signing the €70m-rated (according to Lille’s price tag) Nigerian will lessen Abraham’s goalscoring burden.

Though Liverpool are firing from all cylinders, Klopp is equally eyeing a possible swoop for the Lille forward as he wants to provide more competition for Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the second half of the season.

It should be recall that Manchester United were once linked with a move with Osimhen but it remains to be seen if the Red Devils are still interested in his services amid Solskjaer’s desire to reunite with Erling Haaland.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reveals difference between Liverpool and Arsenal

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has thrown a thinly-veined jibe at Arsenal over their inability to win the Premier League trophy after 15 years.

The last time the Gunners lifted the Premier League glory was in 2003-04 season during which they were unbeaten throughout the campaign.

Unfortunately, the Gunners haven’t been able to add to the number of the English Premier League trophies they have won.

They came closer to winning the League in 2015-2016 season but couldn’t defeat an in-form Leicester City in the race for the title.

Revealing why the Gunners are yet to achieve a laudable success since the impressive unbeaten run, the former Arsenal player claimed that the North London club didn’t know how to get positive results when things are not going as planned.

According to Chamberlain while speaking to the telegraph, all of his former clubs — including Arsenal, lacked the kind of winning mentality currently possessed by Liverpool who have won most of their matches even when they weren’t playing to their strength.

Though Chamberlain didn’t specifically direct his comments at the Gunners, it is believed that the player could be referring to his time while he was at the Emirates Stadium during Arsene Wenger’s reign.

“I’ve been in teams that are fantastic teams when everything’s going great, we’re unbelievable and when we have an off-day we have an off-day,” Chamberlain said.

“The good thing at the minute with this group when we’re having off-days we’re still coming away with good results because we’re sticking to our basics and principles as well.

“That sort of winning culture spreads throughout the team. The manager, he insists that the leaders in our team – Jordan, Milly, Adam, Virgil – they’re all boys who demand the most of themselves first and foremost and then the rest of us.”

Having played 17 matches so far, the Merseyside club have recoded 16 victories and one draw. They are presently in pole position to win this season’s Premier League trophy.

On the contrary, the Gunners are in the 10th position with 22 points having won just five matches from the same number of matches.
