United Set To Lure Experience Striker To Old Trafford After Bournemouth’s Defeat

Manchester United suffered a shock defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday as they were pipped 1-0 by the struggling Cherries who didn’t find the back of the net throughout October.

Josh King’s solitary goal was enough to prevent the Old Trafford outfits from recording their fourth straight victories in all competitions.

Solskjaer’s men were wasteful in front of goal as they missed some clear-cut chances during the encounter.

As part of his urge to to solve the ever-present goal scoring problem, the Norwegian manager has reportedly made a list of strikers he would love to sign in the upcoming January transfer window.

Ligue 1 strikers Victor Osimhen and Moussa Dembele; Germany-based striker Timo Werner; And Serie A centre-forward Mario Mandzukic are all included in the manager’s wish-list.

However, the most amazing part of the report is that 38-year-old striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich is also said have made the list of wanted players.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Swedish star is being linked with a return to Old Trafford because Solskjaer believes in his ability to score goals and help his youngsters improve their end products.

The media outlet further stressed that the former Barcelona striker will end his contract with his current MLS side  LA Galaxy in January, and he’s in talks with the Red Devils over a possible return to the Premier League giants.

With yesterday’s defeat to the Cherries, United now occupy the 10th position with 13 points from 11 matches.

Having scored six goals in two matches, it is safe to say that the Red Devils attacking department is back its best (at least for now).

The Red Devils converted three of their shots on target against Brighton in Sunday’s match-day 12 fixture which ended 3-1 in favor of Solskjaer’s men.

The victory took them to the 6th position in the League standings with 16 points as they hope to qualify for next year’s Champions League competition.

Despite the newfound run of form, the Red Devils manager isn’t taking anything for granted regarding the upcoming transfer window as he is targeting some reliable players who will improve the quality of the team.

Valencia’s Jose Gaya is one of the players linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams as part of Solskjaer’s desire to improve the quality of play at the left-back position in the second half of the season.

Luke Shaw’s injury has obviously created a huge vacuum at the left side of United’s defence and the Norwegian tactician is willing to add the youngster to his team as backup to the English star.

According to Deporte Valenciano, the Old Trafford outfits are monitoring the player’s display for the Spanish side this season and they’re likely to launch a bid for his services in January.

This means either Ashley Young or impressive Brandon Williams could be loaned out to interested suitors in the winter in order to create a space for the Valencia star at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have agreed personal terms to sign an unnamed striker in January, according to reports.

United are currently 10 points adrift of fourth placed Chelsea on the table but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes they stand a chance to finish the season in the first quartet of the table.

But the Red Devils may not be able to pursue their ambition for this season without reinforcing the front-line of their squad.

Although United reinforced their squad during the summer transfer window, Romelu Lukaku who joined Inter Milan in the Serie has not yet been replaced.

The January transfer isn’t far off any more and Solskjaer has reportedly laid bare his plans to United hierarchy of signing a player in the stead of Lukaku, The Metro claims.

The report further claims Solskjaer has been availed the  excess of  £70m to sign a player in January.

United have been linked with a chunk of players including Lyon striker Moussa Dembele. Chelsea are also linked with the 23-year-old star but United stand a better chance given their transfer window ban.

United suffered a shock defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier league last weekend but they’d be looking to bounce back when they take on Brighton this weekend.

Chelsea are looking to sign French and Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports.

Chelsea might be able to sign players in the January transfer window if their appeal at the Court of Arbitration for sports goes through on the 20th of November.

The West London club was handed a two window transfer ban before this year’s summer transfer window but they are looking to turn that.

Dembele has scored eight goals in 11 league games since the start of the season and he has drawn attention to himself.

Manchester United are said to be keeping tabs on the 23-year-old striker, with reports indicating they’d make a move for him when the transfer window comes alive in January.

The Red Devils are yet to replace Romelu Lukaku, who was sold to Inter Milan in the summer transfer window but they are looking to sign Dembele in his stead.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are already preparing for life after Olivier Giroud and they have as well pinned Dembele for signing should they be able to reinforce their squad in January, reports the Daily Mail .

Giroud has found game time difficult to come by this season and there are claims he could walk away at the end of this campaign, same goes for Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi.

Tammy Abraham might be the only out-and out striker at the club.

The report claims Lyon would accept no less £71million to allow the star striker leave.
