William Saliba breaks silence on Arsenal transfer after agreeing personal terms

It’s mid-June already and Arsenal are still struggling to sign their targets in the window.

William Saliba wants to play for Arsenal and he has informed the North London club of this dream, this is according to reports by the Daily Star.

Unai Emery is looking to reinforce his leaky backline and he has sanctioned a deal for French and Saint Etienne centre-back Saliba.

The youngster who, is highly rated and desperate to play in the Premier League agreed personal terms to join Arsenal on a five year deal. However, Saint-Etienne wants the player to be loaned back to them on the completion of the deal and this has presented a stumbling block to the move.

Laurent Koscielny has surpassed the twillight of his career and he is not expected to play any big role in the first team next season. The form of Shkodran Mustafi has seen many fans calling for his sale, this means Saliba could walk straight into the first team, and so Arsenal do not want to loan him back.

Saliba is valued at  £26m, which is more than half of the entire transfer budget of Arsenal. The Gunners will be looking to get him for a cheaper price.

While Arsenal are looking to add to their squad, they will listen to offers for players like Laurent Koscienly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil.
